I wrote a story for my creative writing class called “Getting Lifted” and decided to turn it into a comic. I drew out the first page yesterday and colored a panel of it today. 

I was going to wait until I had the whole page colored to share, but I feel like I must post something worthwhile here (it’s been awhile!) so here’s panel 1:

The story is told from the alternating point of view of Jules (above: telling her mom to “shut the fuck up”) and Rodney her fellow runaway love interest. (Jeeze that sounds like such a lame story) 

It’s not as lame as it sounds…I hope!

Also I feel like I’m trying to channel Emily Carroll‘s style of coloring, and doing so poorly. (I guess I’d rather be poor and (somewhat) original than perfectly copying someone else!)
